Ethan Mannello

Reporter and Producer, Longview

As a journalist and podcaster, I have developed a diverse portfolio covering sports, politics, and various other topics. This summer, I interned at Courier News in Somerville, NJ, part of the USA Today network. During my time there, I covered town council meetings, crime and court stories, local news, and other events across the counties we served. I am set to graduate from the University of Miami in December 2024, with a major in journalism and minors in political science and finance. My coursework has spanned a range of journalism disciplines, from feature writing to sports journalism, equipping me with many content creation skills. I have had the opportunity to report on a variety of events, from South Miami City Hall meetings to Inter Miami soccer games and my work has been featured in the Miami Herald. My tenure at the school newspaper, the Miami Hurricane, has been valuable. After nearly two years of writing opinion and news articles, I have become the co-editor for the opinion section in my final semester. My experience also extends to television, specifically at UMTV, the university's TV station. For two years, I contributed to the news show NewsBreak, where I honed my skills in researching, scriptwriting, on-camera performance, and video editing using Adobe Premiere. Additionally, I expanded my technical abilities by learning to record and edit video packages. I have also worked for the school radio station and completed a podcasting class, which led me to create my own podcasts and gain experience using Adobe Audition. Outside the newsroom, I stay informed about current events, both out of professional necessity and personal interest. An essential lesson I've learned is the value of diverse perspectives in journalism. Understanding multiple viewpoints and presenting well-rounded reporting are fundamental to my approach. My minors in political science and finance bolster my subject matter expertise. When tackling stories, I embrace curiosity and skepticism, striving for balanced, objective narratives. I consider myself a versatile reporter, comfortable across various platforms and newsrooms. My ultimate career goal is to be a print reporter covering politics, writing opinion pieces, or hosting my own podcast. With my skill set and dedication to journalistic integrity, I will contribute significantly to the field. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and I look forward to continuing my growth as a journalist.

Tom Bailey

Writer | Editor | Storyteller | Content Management Guru

I’ve always been a writer. From keeping a journal as a kid to working my way through college, my aim was to make a living doing what I was most passionate about. Fortunately, it’s worked out. Telling the stories of what makes businesses and their customers successful is what I continue to do best—in a creative and captivating manner, and in all ways digital, social, mobile and print. And these days, I have as much fun and passion in doing it as ever.

Jessica Warren-Jones, MTSC, CSPO

Technical & UX Writer | Product Person | User Advocate

Hi! I'm Jessica. 👋 I have over 15 years professional experience developing technical content for software user manuals, training modules and exercises, best practices guides, knowledgebase articles, API references, blog posts, and more. In my most recent role, I was responsible for managing a team of Business Analysts and UI Designers to help research jobs to be done, define requirements, and deliver our product roadmap. I was also the Product Owner for a dedicated initiative to modernize a legacy software while enhancing the overall usability and user experience for the next generation of end-users, and I loved just about everything about that "new to me" challenge. I hold a Master of Technical and Scientific Communication (MTSC) degree from Miami University (Oxford, OH) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Professional Writing from Murray State University (Murray, KY). I obtained my Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO®) certification in December 2024. In my free time, I enjoy dabbling in cell phone photography, exploring the many great parks in southwest Ohio, seeing plays, and spending time with my husband and our cat and dog. I am always excited to hear about new technical writing, UX, or product management opportunities that are remote-based anywhere in the US or on-site/hybrid in the Cincinnati or Dayton areas. Please feel free to reach out to me via LinkedIn.

John F. Montagne

Magister of the Arts

The keys to a kingdom are forged through a mastery of words; the realm beyond is a formula of composition. I am in my idealistic sense, the title granted as an esteemed alumnus of an English university, a magister. It is the credentials denoting a scholar and scribe and inadvertently, an explorer in pursuit of all the keys to realms beyond. Since my formative years I have been an avid reader with a balance of exploration into what I was reading and eventually, writing. Studying English in the country of its origin was a necessary part of my own Campbellian quest, along with knowing the language from non-native speaker perspectives from around the world. In my global pursuits of tracing oral traditions into literary form I mastered a ring of kingdom keys. There is no longer a demographic of age, language, nationality, or cultural background that I have not or cannot successfully instruct. This is regardless of whether it is a language, an idea, thing, or even implementation and integration of varied processes - whether it in-person, on the web, or through printed material. Herein are shadows of the skills, abilities, and experiences of a magister of the arts...
