Senior Copywriter · Copy Editor
Hi, I'm Karen—a copywriter and copy editor from the southern New England/NYC area. I began my career in New York working in children’s publishing—my first love. As a wet-behind-the-ears marketing assistant at William Morrow, I created playful promotional materials for five children’s book imprints. A few years later I sashayed two city blocks over to magazine publishing, where I honed my craft in art/editorial production. My real education came from time spent at Rolling Stone, Men’s Journal, Family Life, Travel + Leisure, House & Garden, and Real Simple. Hot damn, New York City in the ’90s was fun. Since then, I’ve collaborated with companies across food, fashion, tech, travel, beauty, automotive, and medical research. While writing is my primary expertise, I also bring a strong visual sensibility to the work. These days I create content and concepts for Conair and its family of brands, including Cuisinart, BaByliss, scünci, and Waring. I write product copy for web retailers, packaging, video scripts, blogs, and catalogs—words for thousands of products that reach millions of people. Beyond the writing, I’m a wife, mother of three, potter, dog lover, live-music regular, former rock-and-blues singer, and proud Oxford comma loyalist.

Senior Technical & B2B Copywriter | SaaS, API Docs, White Papers, Case Studies | SEO & Content Strategy | Transforming Complex Tech into Revenue
I speak two languages: "Complex Engineer" and "Persuasive Human." Technically, that makes me a bilingual translator. But instead of translating English to French, I translate dense technical specifications into revenue-driving marketing copy and crystal-clear user documentation. For the last 7+ years, I’ve occupied the rare space where technical precision meets creative strategy. I help organizations bridge the gap between Product Engineering (who care about how it works) and Sales/Marketing (who care about how it sells). My philosophy is simple: I don’t just write "content." I build assets. Whether I’m decoding AI surveillance specs or differentiating plumbing hardware for pro contractors, I find the narrative that drives adoption. What I bring to the table: 🧩 The Hybrid Brain: I’m comfortable pivoting between highly technical developer docs in the morning and punchy, creative ad copy for consumer audiences in the afternoon. 🚀 Strategic Scope: I don’t just write the blog post. I build the strategy, the email sequence, and the sales one-pager that support it. 🏠 Remote Reliability: I’ve been driving high-velocity campaigns remotely since 2018 (long before it was the norm). I know how to manage projects and stakeholders without being in the same zip code. Core Focus: - Sales Enablement & Buyer Assets - Technical Documentation & User Guides - Video Scripting & Multimedia Storytelling - Cross-Functional Collaboration (Product + Sales + Marketing) If you need someone who cares as much about conversion rates as they do about API accuracy, let's connect.

Writer, Copywriter, Storyteller
I’ve rarely met a word I didn’t like. An accomplished and clever writer, copywriter and storyteller, my industry experience includes healthcare, pharma and beyond—tech, hospitality, professional associations and more. I fell in love with stories as a child, starting with interviewing my grandfather about his patents when I was 8. The story was published in the local paper, and I was hooked. Since then, I've created content for magazines, websites, corporate teams and brands, ad agencies, social media, OOH, SEM and more. I had a blast interviewing Colin Powell about a very important political subject (not)—fashion. And I sort of conquered my fear of heights while climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, getting an extra high when the story was published in the 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘨𝘰 𝘛𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘶𝘯𝘦, 𝘓.𝘈. 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 and other national outlets. Outside of work, I play tennis, hike, do GYROTONIC®, travel near and far, read anything from the 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 to industry news to 𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 and teach grades K-12 on the side. And—with almost a decade of voice lessons and years in choral groups—I love to make words sing, on the page and off! The common thread in my work—and in life—is connecting people to each other and ideas. Looking for a personable, resourceful writer/copywriter or communications pro? Let's connect! I'd love to help bring your stories to life.
