Editor | Political & Investigative Journalism | Digital Strategy & Team Leadership
Pronounced 𝘋𝘢𝘢𝘳-𝘵𝘰𝘰-𝘯𝘰𝘰𝘳-𝘳𝘰𝘩, but most people call me Dart. Welcome to my portfolio. I'm a journalist and editor with a decade of experience navigating newsrooms big and small. Currently in Washington, D.C. as an editor at the Associated Press. I’ve chased breaking news, led teams through daily coverage chaos, and shaped sharp, inclusive storytelling that connects with readers. From crafting punchy, SEO-savvy headlines to collaborating across newsrooms, I bring precision, hustle, and a deep respect for clean copy. Fun facts: Ran a long-distance race in every NYC borough, including the 2018 New York City Marathon, I'm a Mariah Carey evangelist, and attempted the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge (I got to No. 19).

Marketing/Communications Specialist
Hi, I’m Liz. I specialize in turning complex ideas into content people want to read. I’ve worked with organizations across industries, such as healthcare, transportation, real estate, higher education, and beyond. What I love most is finding that sweet spot where strategy meets storytelling, because I believe even the most technical topic deserves clarity, creativity, and a little personality. What you’ll see here is just a sample of my work. Out of respect for previous clients and employers, not everything I’ve created (like SEO strategies, in-depth content plans, or social media playbooks) can be shared publicly. If you’d like to see more, let’s chat. When I’m not polishing sentences or convincing someone that yes, formatting does matter, you’ll probably find me on a hike or a paddleboard, or adding books to my “to-read” list faster than I can finish them. 📬 Contact me: lizrittiman@gmail.com

Writer
With more than a decade of professional writing experience, I love transforming complicated ideas into content that actually makes sense (and gets clicks). I've spent the last several years immersed in the creativity and chaos of a startup design service turned full-blown marketing agency, virtual assistant service, and online marketplace. In addition to writing the agency's web copy and administering the blog and resource pages, I was the initial creative working with clients during each pilot launch, testing the service, figuring out what worked, and finding solutions for what didn't. After years of swapping professional titles and job responsibilities multiple times each week, sometimes several times in one day, settling on one career title is a challenge. I am a copywriter, a technical writer, a marketer, an SEO specialist, a customer account manager, and a virtual assistant. And, I have recently added AI reinforcement trainer to my virtual name badge. I currently split my time between writing for humans and training AI to do the same. I work hands-on with specialty large language models, using my biology degree and medical background (this is where the technical writing experience comes from) to assess, and correct LLMs intended for healthcare deployment. I like to think that I am doing my part to make sure that AI doesn't go all "Skynet" on us... or that it will at least be a benevolent, honest overlord (with a proper vocabulary) if it does.
