She began freelancing in 2011, using her background in journalism and editing to provide clients with article, blog, proofreading/copy editing and newsletter services. In 2013, she founded Sun Up Press and has authored and successfully published more than 30 books in three genres.

Fast forward to 2025, Melina earned multiple certificates in social media, graphic design and public relations, making "official" skills she had learned on the job. New R211S subway cars enter service in Staten Island

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), North America's largest transportation network, recently launched new R211S subway cars into service on the Staten Island Railway (SIR). The cars are part of the MTA's ongoing modernization efforts and replace R44s subway cars from 1973. The R211S cars travel an average of 240,000 miles between replacements and major repairs.
