Catey Miller

Writer, Editor, Ponderer

I'm a writer and editor with diverse experience across academic, literary, and marketing settings. I'm passionate about clear and accessible writing (with a special fondness for the Oxford comma), critical thinking, collaboration, and lifelong learning—plus dogs and great TV. My editing experience encompasses everything from blog articles to lead nurturing email campaigns to web copy to novel manuscripts. I'm well versed in both Chicago and AP styles. Most recently I was Senior Editor and then Manager of Editing at a digital marketing agency, and the samples showing work below are from that time. As a writer, I've produced work ranging from experimental short stories to in-depth feature articles to brief, informative blog posts. In 2025, I completed an MA in theology, which further developed my ability to engage with and express complex, often deeply personal ideas. Studying and writing about theology has taught me to approach challenging topics with sensitivity, respect, and curiosity. I received my MFA in creative writing (fiction) in 2015 and have published several short stories and articles in publications including Ruminate and Slate.

Here is a small collection of writing samples published by the SciComm Society.

Jennifer Perez-Harris

content strategist | UX writer | content writer

Hey there--I’m Jennifer Perez-Harris. I tell stories with systems and systems with stories. Translation? I make complicated products feel simple, usable, and human. I’ve written for Fortune 100 tech giants, health startups with everything on the line, and now I’m building AI-driven content frameworks that truly scale. My through-line: clarity, every single time. Here’s how I work: Start with people. Not personas on a slide, but actual humans struggling (or succeeding!) with a flow. Design with systems. Patterns, frameworks, and guidelines that keep teams aligned long after I’ve logged off. Scale with clarity. Content that feels obvious--in the best way. I help people understand technology, and technology understand people.

Kathleen J. Kiley

Journalist & Storyteller

I began my career on Wall Street, reporting on mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings (IPOs) for Investment Dealers’ Digest. I've written for NPR, The New York Times and The Telegraph on subjects ranging from technology and education to capital market issues. I was part of a startup team of journalists that launched an industry news site for KPMG, the Insiders, positioning the global firm as a source of digital news, analysis, and thought leadership. The readership for this high-profile project consisted of C-level executives, academics, and government officials. We grew this organically to 100,000 subscribers.

Liz Farquhar

Marketing Professional

My passion for storytelling began when I was 13. Beginning with a dream of being a journalist in high school, my first investigative article was part of a series titled "In Your Shoes" and tackled the difficult subject of teenage pregnancy and public perception. After high school, I spent four years working for my college paper, where I was the first Web Editor for the publication. During my time in that position, I built the web team that went on to win Best in Show for College Papers the Fall after I graduated. In the years since working for my high school and college newspapers, I have bounced between creative writing, journalism and marketing. I like to think that my experience with each of these styles has laid the technical foundation for quality storytelling while helping me to think outside the box in order to create effective content strategies and compelling brand stories that drive leads and revenue growth for organizations.
