After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature at Newcastle University, I took time out to travel around the world; visiting countries such as Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, Singapore and Indonesia, before returning to the UK to focus on a career in journalism. While studying for my MA in Broadcast Journalism at City, University of London, I worked as an Assistant Producer at LBC. I moved to Glasgow in the summer of 2019 to join the team at BBC Scotland. I spent two years working on various live TV and radio programmes including the Kaye Adams 'Mornings' programme and BBC Scotland's flagship breakfast news programme, Good Morning Scotland. In 2020, I started developing my digital skills while working with the BBC News online team and producing social media content for the news and current affairs programme, The Nine, and political programmes Question Time, Debate Night and The Leaders Debate during the Scottish elections. I moved to Manchester in May 2021 to work as a TV producer at BBC Breakfast. I covered stories including the US and UK's withdrawal of armed forces from Afghanistan, Russia's invasion of Ukraine and partygate. Since May 2022, I have bee working on the BBC World Service desk for the Business Unit. Part of my role involves pitching business and financial stories from around the world, reporting on the latest global economic stories live for the World Business Report programme and finding new and original voices that humanise these stories.
