Samuel Obiora

Creative Writer.

Hey! I'm what you'd call a general service writer, LOL. I write from the heart and about three major themes; fiction, politics, sports, and everything in between. I'm a STEM graduate who found his love for writing and has been doing so for half a decade through freelancing. I shine in writing African-themed stories.

Vandana Hettiaratchi

Content & Copy Writer

We all dream of changing the world, in some way or another. I believe stories can change the world and I love a job that gives me the opportunity to tell these stories. Over the years, I have shared these stories in many ways. I’ve used photography and pictures, and I’ve created and edited videos but my favourite way of telling a story is with words. I get a thrill from writing! Behind the storyteller, I am a goal-oriented, constantly learning, foodie. I am an avid bookworm, cricket fan and movie junkie. I also love traveling and exploring new cultures, trying out new languages (and failing miserably), and meeting people from all walks of life. On a more serious note, I have a MSc. in Development Studies from Lund University, Sweden and a BSc. in International Relations from LSE, together with 2+ years of experience in content creation, content writing, and digital marketing.

Alex Dakers

Freelance journalist

Hi! I'm a London-based freelance journalist with experience across the newsroom at multiple national titles. During my two years freelancing with The i Paper (inews.co.uk), I have written, edited and live blogged across the breaking news, world, sport, SEO, culture and comment desks, while I continue to develop my sports reporting, editing and live blogging skills at titles including BBC Sport, the Standard, and Fantasy Football Scout. I've written about the Olympics and Olympic sports for publications including The i, RadioTimes and NBC Sports, while my time as a dedicated sportswriter at another national newspaper, the Cayman Compass, gave me experience covering a wide range of sports at every level, from grassroots up to world championship level. In addition to my work with legacy media, you can also find my byline in other niche publications such as Swimming World Magazine and SwimSwam Magazine, and local media outlets like the Pacifica Tribune. During the completion of my master's degree in Journalism (with a data journalism focus) at Stanford University ('23), I used my experience as an international athlete to single-handedly provide in-depth coverage of the university's renowned swimming and diving programs as a staff writer for The Stanford Daily. Meanwhile, my bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Bath ('22) fuels my desire to improve the way science and health news is reported in the media. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any story ideas as well as freelance writing, editing, copywriting or similar opportunities (remote or otherwise) - you can find me on Twitter (@dakers_alex) or LinkedIn, or email me at: alexdakersjourno@gmail.com You'll find categories to filter my work (all sorted by the latest stories first) below - thanks for coming, and I hope you enjoy reading!
