Content writer, Editor, Proofreader
Lisa is a versatile, creative communications pro and storyteller. She has an extensive repertoire of articles she's written for digital and print media about movies, pop culture, healthcare, energy, retail and real estate, among other topics. An eagle-eyed word nerd, Lisa loves making a client's copy shine and edits reports, articles, scripts, emails, brochures, slide decks, websites and direct mail. A public relations consultant for most of her career, Lisa has a nose for what's intriguing and newsworthy, having placed dozens of articles and op/eds in local and national media outlets. She writes pithy social media posts and is a proud member of the #Twitter10, the group that took down Boston's 2024 Olympic bid. When Lisa's not writing, editing or publicizing a project, she's probably cooking or at the movies. She also enjoys ballroom dancing and skydived once. Please note that this online portfolio is representative of some of her work; there's more upon request.

Technical Writer
Hi, My name's Nathan, and I'm a technical writer based in the Kansas City area. I am a recent graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville's English master's program, where I also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Technical Communication. My bachelor's degree is in aerospace engineering from the University of Kansas. My education has prepared me well for a career in tech writing and editing, as I have lots of exposure to technical engineering concepts as well as the skills to successfully communicate those ideas. I love writing and editing, and this site will showcase some of my work that best represents my skill set and interests. I wanted to have a broad selection of my work, ranging from technical user guides and scientific infographics to research papers for my master's program to book reviews that I have written for the Society for Technical Communication. I really wanted to choose works that showcased some of the things in life I am passionate about: science and engineering, digital culture, and the study of mass media, for instance. I hope by reading these pieces you gain an understanding of who I am in addition to gauging my technical skills. In addition to these projects, I also have numerous reports, newsletters, and user manuals that I have written for my job as a graduate research assistant at UAH. In this role, I was part of a collaboration program between UAH and the FBI known as the Hazardous Devices Tools and Technologies Unit. In this role, I wrote and edited documents about the disarmament and defusal of improvised explosive devices, but due to the sensitive nature of this work I am unable to share any of my projects publicly here. Currently I work as a web copywriter for a Kansas City web design firm called Lifted Logic. In this role, I write all of the copy for clients building new websites with our firm. I am responsible for interviewing each client to understand their business, voice, and personality. Then I write all of their website's pages, focusing on representing the client and accurately describing their services. Most of the clients I write for are in the industrial or medical field, such as HVAC companies, medical practices, construction, and automotive supply.

Content Strategist | SEO Copywriter | Podcast Host | eCommerce Pro
Once upon a time, a little 7-year-old girl wanted to be a children's author. It was kind of a weird dream job since she wanted to write for children but was a child herself at that time. Anyway, she liked drawing too and drew all over the paper mats at restaurants with her family. She hoped to write AND illustrate children's books someday. Spoiler: that little girl was me. I know. You didn't see that one coming. Back then, I wrote my own imaginative stories, read tons of books, and came in second in the fifth-grade spelling bee. These days, I have eight years of experience in content writing, coupled with six years of copywriting experience. I'm interested in writing engaging copy that drives traffic and improves ranking for online content. I enjoy the keyword research process and finding ways to boost search engine optimization. The most unique thing about me is that I'm both left-brained and right-brained. I'm not sure if it's because of my love of true crime, but I have a difficult time walking away from a problem without solving it first! In addition, I need to be precise, thorough, and I'm detail-oriented in everything that I do. I'm equal parts artsy and creative! When I'm not working, you can find me conquering the karaoke floor, traveling, or even getting out of my comfort zone by trying improv or stand-up comedy! This balance of both worlds gives me a range of passions from clean beauty to self-care to pop culture to music. I'm extremely passionate about health, holistic healing, and self-care.
