Content Marketer - SEO Writer - Creative Writer
I'm a well-rounded, hands-on marketing aficionado with experience writing for the travel and tourism, health, lifestyle, and education industries in San Francisco, Chicago, and Madrid. Throw me in some mysterious land with no map or concept of the language, and I'll find my way, befriend all the locals, and have a wedding invite in my hand by the end of my stay. I thrive on adventure and love opportunities to build connections with others, whether in person or through the written word. My sense of adventure, adaptability, and quick-thinking has served me well—from teaching English in Spain, to narrowly escaping guerillas in the Guatemalan mountains, to juggling countless competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU: - Blog posts - Web articles - SEO copywriting - Email copy - Journalism - Scholarly research papers - Wedding Speeches When I'm not tapping the keyboard, you can find me planning my next trip with my family, cuddling with coffee and a good book, and podcasting about matters affecting women. Ping me for more writing samples, if needed. Writer
Grace E Cha has been writing since high school, where she was a staff writer and assistant editor of her high school newspaper, The Charger, in Fresno, CA. She went on to become an intern, staff writer, multicultural desk editor and editor in chief of her college newspaper, City on a Hill Press, at University of California at Santa Cruz, where she wrote articles on the discrimination of Koreans in Japan, and the detainment of HIV-positive Haitian refugees on Guantanamo Bay. After graduating from college with a Bachelor of Arts in history, Grace went on to work as a reporting intern for the Tri-City Herald in Kennewick, WA. One of the stories she wrote included the immigration story of a Bosnian-Serbian couple who escaped war-torn Bosnia and settled in Kennewick, WA. Grace later moved to Los Angeles, where she eventually landed a job as an associate producer for the online division of Channel One News, a daily national news broadcast aired in high schools. She also worked at the Los Angeles Daily News as an associate editor in the special sections department, where she helped write and edit copy for promotions and special events. Soon after, Grace was accepted into Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. She wrote her master’s thesis on the imminent closing of Fresh Kills Landfill, the resulting recycling efforts being made to reduce garbage, the controversial options for disposal, and the history of garbage disposal in New York City. She also covered court trials, and took classes in arts and culture reporting and new media. She received her master’s degree in journalism in 2000. She returned to California and worked as a reporter for the Press-Enterprise in Riverside, CA. She then went on to work as a freelance writer where she wrote profiles of minority businesses and business leaders for Emerging Markets magazine, Korean immigrant history in the Central Valley and reunification between South and North Korean relatives for KoreAm Journal, CD reviews for online music magazine, HitCooper.com and local musician/band profiles in the Fresno area for online music magazine, SoulsandSounds.com. She also worked briefly at The Fresno Bee online edition, fresnobee.com, as a content editor. Grace received a national first place award in college in 1994 for her work in investigative reporting on garment workers in the San Francisco Bay Area who lost back wages from dressmaker Jessica McClintock. Her story exposed the mistreatment of these workers by corporate dressmakers who contract work from garment factories, and pay less than minimum wage, while selling their dresses for hundreds of dollars. The Asian Immigrant Women’s Advocates group held protests and demanded better treatment and full pay for these workers. Grace received this award for best in-depth feature from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, Gold Circle Awards. Grace has also won awards in high school, for best On-the-Spot News Writing, first place, and honorable mention for columns and personal experience, from the San Joaquin Valley Scholastic Press Association, and the Bullard High School medal of recognition for Journalism. She received a scholarship award in 1994 from the Asian American Journalists Association, and a scholarship grant assisting her in her graduate study from the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund in 1999. Grace has since joined the content marketing arena. She has written blog posts for LucidPix, a 3D photography application company. She obtained a certificate in content marketing through Coursera as part of a course offered by UC Davis Extension. The course was taught by Sonia Simone, an editor and writer at CopyBlogger. She is also a published author of one novel, "The Professionals" (2014), a collection of short stories, "A Clouded Sky: Stories for the Mid-Millennium" (2019) and three children's books. Her most recent published work includes, "Bleached" (2021) written under the pen name Gracie Clyde, and "Midnight: A Collection of Poems" (2021). All her published work is available purchase on Amazon.com. See her author website at www.geunsungcha.com. She also authors two blogs at the-new-politic.weebly.com and.thebraincollective.weebly.com.
