Content Creator
I grew up in New Orleans, but relocated to Chicago after finishing college at Dillard University, where I earned a bachelor's degree in mass communication. I've largely worked as a writer and editor for newspapers, magazines, corporations and associations, but I'm also a filmmaker (with an MFA in cinema directing from Columbia College) and designer of handmade jewelry, wall art, housewares, accessories and other products. As a print journalist, I've worked as a reporter and editor at the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Jet Magazine, the Chicago Sun-Times, and the ADA News. I wrote the nonfiction business memoir "Sweet Expectations: Michele Hoskins' Recipe for Success," published by Adams Media in 2004. As a filmmaker, I've written, produced and directed three short films: "Oh Brother, My Sister"; “Ninth Grade Ned”; and “BARACKED.” My short film "Oh Brother, My Sister" won the Lagniappe Award at the 11th New Orleans Film & Video Festival. A huge lover of books, I previously served as board chair of the Children's Book Fair in Hyde Park. My personal creative writing encompasses poetry, fiction, essays, plays and more. In fact, I am always working on something creative, and I take that spirit with me everywhere, be it a canvas or a white paper! Writer, Editor, AI Specialist
Hi, I’m Johannah. I’m a content strategist who crafts sharp, human-centered copy—even in the most complex and regulated spaces. I use AI where it adds value (I’ve helped train some of the big-name Large Language Models), but I never outsource my superpowers: original thinking, a clear voice, and genuine connection. Whether I’m writing for patients, providers, or the people behind the products, my passion is crafting compelling copy in your brand voice that drives action.
