My background:
Most recently, worked as a Sr. Reporter and Features Writer for The Epoch Times newspaper and CaliforniaInsider.com.
I've enjoyed a career both as a senior-level, strategic public relations, public affairs, and contingency planning executive - as well as a freelance writer, weekly newspaper columnist, and radio show producer and co-host.
I've pitched and been pitched - as a result, I am better able to be an effective, creative thinker, communicator, connector, writer.
Some other stuff:
I currently serve as an appointee on the City of Newport Beach General Plan Update Committee, and was appointed for two consecutive terms by the Newport Beach City Council to the City Arts Commission, Chair Emeritus.
I've played the violin since childhood, love to cook and entertain, oil paint a little, and never cease to be amused by my two rescue pups 'Duff' and 'Libby'.
Fun Fact: In 2019, I was one of four local radio talk show hosts nominated for "Best Local Radio Personality" by OC Weekly.
Please note that my byline has also been under my former married last name of Lynn Selich. Questions? Don't hesitate to contact me! (310) 968-4678 or lynnhackman@att.net

I'm sure at one time or another most of us have experienced one of my most dreaded of social faux pas' - that of the botched introduction. You know the one. You're at an event with someone whom you've known for years (or worse a relative or significant other), and suddenly you blank on their name just as you have to make introductions.

Life is funny sometimes. Opportunities are gained or lost. Dreams are realized or released. People come and go in and out of our lives, they ebb and flow in an unexpected juxtaposition of circumstances that sometimes doesn't quite make sense. Until it does. Such is my relationship with Tom Johnson, who over the years I would [...]
With all due respect to the hysteria surrounding the Ebola virus making its way to our shores, I am distracted of late by another crisis. Tiny in comparison, but mighty in their ability to frustrate, I speak of my recent battle with ants. As a kid, under the Christmas tree one year, Santa brought me [...]

Recently, I joined more than 320 guests attending the Hispanic 100 Third Annual Lifetime Achievement Award Gala at the waterfront Balboa Bay Club and Resort in Newport Beach. Former U.S. Treasurer Rosario Marin served as mistress of ceremonies for the event, which also included special guest speaker George P.

A Memoir of Loss, Building a Boat, Rebuilding a Life, & Discovering China Scan the Hong Kong harbor. Crammed stem to stern on its sparkling waters are hundreds of ships and boats-big and small, old and new, with listing masts and soaring funnels. There are yachts and there are container ships.
