The Hamilton Lugar School’s Arabic Debate Team secured a first-place finish in the native speakers’ division of the 5th annual U.S. Universities Arabic Debating Championship held September 27-29 at New York University.
Indiana University students don’t need to move to Silicon Valley to begin their careers in venture capital. The first step is much closer to home for fellows in the IU Ventures program, including Hamilton Lugar School International Studies master’s student Rohi Matondo.

The Quechua Alliance's award recognized Serafín Coronel-Molina's commitment to the documentation, maintenance, and revitalization of Quechua and other Indigenous languages through research, teaching, service, and activism.
More than three decades ago, Marianne Kamp saw first-hand how the collapse of the Soviet Union affected nearly every aspect of life in Central Asia. With the support of a $50,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, she now leads a ten-member team of researchers preserving the oral histories of that era.
The African Studies Association presented Indiana University Professor Alwiya Omar with their 2024 Outstanding Service Award during the organization’s 67th annual meeting in Chicago on December 14.
