With a background in journalism, I have a passion for storytelling. My 10+ years of experience span digital publishing, content marketing, voice/tone/brand development, SEO, social media, and creative copywriting, and end-to-end editorial management.
I worked on the in-house creative team at a branding and marketing startup, with multiple enterprise clients at a content marketing agency, and as an independent freelancer. In these roles, I've helped clients develop their voices and messaging to reach target audiences across blogs, websites, social media, email newsletters, digital ads, and product packaging.
My work with clients in the tech (SaaS), health care, and financial services industries has helped me gain familiarity with varied target audiences, brand voices, style guides, and regulatory compliance standards. I also have extensive experience converting SEO content briefs into editorial outlines for a contributor network. I'm used to managing high-volume production timelines, working with contractors/freelancers, building and optimizing processes, and upholding strict quality standards.
I hold a professional editing certificate from the University of Chicago and a TEFL certificate. The latter allowed me to work and live in Nagoya, Japan, where I taught English at a private language school. In my free time, I love exploring all that Portland has to offer with my chocolate lab, Banksy, frequenting indie bookstores and coffee shops, and obsessing over film and TV.

There it is again, that funny feeling... After a year and a half of staying inside, Burnham gives us a reason to smile. While I'm roughly the same age as Bo Burnham, I don't know him from YouTube.
What could have paid tribute to the Hitchcock classic, Rear Window, is instead messy, disjointed, a little dull, and ultimately a letdown to the voyeur-genre film. For as anticipated a release as this was, pushed back several times due o the pandemic, The Woman in the Window was pretty underwhelming and ineffective.

How do our expectations of reality translate to rape-revenge stories in film?
A Korean family moves to the Ozarks to build their dream and steal our hearts. The performances across the board in this film are so outstanding that it’s hard for me to say who was my favorite, but having been a fan of Steven Yeun for many years, I’m elated with his nomination for Best Actor for his role in the movie.
When nomadic wanderlust becomes a way of life, what does it mean to maintain one’s independence?
In & Of Itself is described as “an intimate and powerful exploration of what it means to be and be seen,” which I would argue is at the core of love, in this case, self-love. Derek DelGaudio, the creator of this unique one-man show, seeks to find an answer to the question, “Who am I?” and manages to do so through a series of vignettes in which he recounts portions of his own life interspersed with segments of audience participation.
What I loved most about this viewing experience was how it made me feel, and let me tell you something, people are feeling themselves in this film. We’re brought into this world through the emotional pull of its characters as they permeate inside a West London house party one summer night in 1981.
Dialog heavy, full of firey social commentary and gender politics, not to mention what I would argue was the most forceful devouring of a bowl of mac and cheese that I’ve ever seen committed to film, this screenplay gave its viewer a lot to take in over the course of its nearly two hour run time. Some of it satisfying, some of it confusing, all of it, contentious.
This film cleverly marries its two central themes-the refugee-immigrant experience and the haunted house in a way that I found both exciting and unsettling, and immensely creative.
Travel
In January, I made plans for my first-ever visit to Japan's capital city. One of the standout experiences was a visit to the Mori Art Museum on the 53rd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. An art museum in a skyscraper? Sign me up!
Kyoto has been a bucket-list destination for me since I can remember, so this break seemed like the perfect time to make the trip. I booked a three-day stay at a hostel close to the train station, and while I had some reservations—Would it be clean? Would it be safe? Would they speak English?—I put them aside with the hopes of having my first Japanese adventure.

"Your number decides your fate," said Meredith, the leader of The Sisterhood. The six of us were positioned behind a long, banquet table covered with a jet-black, velvet tablecloth. In front of us were six plates, each with a thick slice of decadent chocolate cake.
There it was again. That damn sign. "Rest Stop, 1 Mile." He'd been driving for hours and hadn't seen a rest stop of any kind. No off-ramps or distant towns far as the eye could see, but there it was again. That goddamn sign.
