CLOSE Hockey started out as something to do for Dominic Garcia. Growing up in Las Vegas, soccer and baseball were the sports most kids were playing. However, Garcia's lack of excitement for the popular sports drew him elsewhere. Eventually he picked up roller hockey and fell in love with the sport.
CLOSE As the sun set over San Tan Valley, with the wind kicking up dust along the mountains, it seemed like the end of any other mid-June day. However, for three days at Poston Butte High School, something had been occurring that hadn't happened for almost three months.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are uncharted territory for the Coyotes. After defeating Nashville 3-1 in game four of their play-in series on Friday, the team punched its ticket into the playoffs for the first time since 2012. It's been awhile since the team competed for The Cup, but the Coyotes are very aware of their opponent.
Conditioning for Phase 3 of the NHL Return to Play plan hasn't been a challenge for Coyotes captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson. When the NHL announced it would be taking a pause due to the coronavirus pandemic, he headed home to Sweden, where the country remained open.

Two names hold the significance of royalty in Delaware County. The first is Ball. As the namesake of the local university and the name of the family who brought jobs to Muncie in the early 20th century, the Balls have given Delaware County's biggest city a comfortable spot on any United States map.
