Garth Brunner

Game Writer

United States

From a young age, I have been driven by a love for storytelling. I immersed myself in crafting narratives, whether through writing, crafting long, complex narratives and backstories for my stuffed animals, or getting lost in the world of video games, films, and books. Once the time to choose a career path came, it just seemed natural to continue studying what I do best. Hence, my BFA in Writing for Film, TV, and Emerging Media from Ithaca College where I refined my skills in storytelling, narrative structure, dialogue writing, and character development. I firmly believe that memorable characters and great dialogue craft unforgettable gaming experiences, which is why I am so drawn to this line of work.

Writing for video games hardly even feels like work for me—I genuinely love it so much. As a gamer myself, I know how immersive storytelling can be when done well and it is so exciting to give players that agency with different branching narrative paths while collaborating with my colleagues on the next world the players will fall in love with. I love working in teams to bounce ideas off of each other and I accept feedback very well.

I have written for games such as Crossroad Tales, developed by mixi America, Inc. and Merge Manor: Sunny House, developed by CookApps. In fact, my story, Digital Devotion on Crossroad Tales, was the #1 ranking solo player story because of its compelling narrative and characters. Writing full game outlines and scripts for these companies fueled my love for game writing even further.

If you're seeking a dedicated and imaginative writer to bring your game's narrative to life, let's connect and collaborate on something extraordinary. Who can say “no” to extraordinary? Let's connect if you’re interested in working together.
