Constance Douris collaborates with federal government agencies to enhance cybersecurity by creating innovative and strategic approaches and identifying efficiencies in operational processes. More specifically, she plans and executes strategies to enhance Federal Information Security Management Act compliance to help federal agencies attain optimal states related to training, policy, and privacy.
Her recent accomplishments include planning and executing a cybersecurity and privacy awareness communications campaign to enhance staff awareness about best practices, creating a plan to update policies based on National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-53 Revision 5, and leading a team to produce articles and white papers about how cybersecurity, cloud, machine learning, and artificial and commercial intelligence support the countering weapons of mass destruction mission. Her core skills include stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, business development, project management, process improvement, analysis and government relations.
Constance is also a Board Member of the California State University DC Scholars program. In this capacity, she identifies strategies to enhance the program, aimed to expand career opportunities for diverse students. This is the program that motivated her to move to the DC Metro area and she is excited to support students realize and apply their full potential. She also annually supports the National Cybersecurity Society by leading a team to produce cybersecurity articles to support small business needs.
Previously, Constance published articles about electric grid cybersecurity, data privacy, nuclear weapon modernization, and missile defense in various media outlets, including Forbes and RealClearPolitics, and has given speeches to government and industry leaders about these topics on and off Capitol Hill. She also worked on Capitol Hill for Congressman Randy Hultgren of Illinois and Congressman Tim Murphy of Pennsylvania. She was born and raised in Southern California and has lived in the Washington, DC metro area since 2011. During her free time, Constance enjoys spin, yoga, dancing, acupuncture, international travel and reading nonfiction.
