No Ifs, No Buts: This was a Mississippi Lynching In 2022
“Me and the owner of this company are not seeing eye to eye Mama… But if anything happen to me, he’s responsible for it… I’m too smart Mama, he got these guys wanting to kill me."
I am a researcher, author, and writer with interests in racial equity, social justice, and cultural identity. Although I was born in the UK, I have lived and worked in several countries, including the US, Barbados, and Nigeria.
CAREER SNAPSHOTS
- During my time as a Senior Researcher at the Morehouse School of Medicine, I co-edited the book "Social Determinants of Health among African American Men" (2012).
- I am the lead author of an article of the same name.
- At Morehouse, I also coordinated the Community Health Leadership Program at the Satcher Health Leadership Institute.
- Earlier in my career, I earned a Ph.D. in Social Policy from the London School of Economics.
MY WRITING
In my writing, I aim to engage in courageous conversations, shed light on injustices, and empower marginalized communities. I am dedicated to bringing attention to topics that are often overlooked or disregarded by mainstream media. Additionally, my goal is to tackle these issues in a way that highlights the perspectives of those who are disenfranchised and/or voiceless, often necessitating a challenge to prevailing narratives.

Sticks, not carrots, needed to achieve meaningful change.
A unified, non-racial approach to blood donation would avoid further marginalization of Black people and promote a culture of inclusiveness rather than separation.
My experiences — of not fitting into society’s boxes, racism and injustice —have shaped who I am, my worldview, my writing and my career.
"Making racial bias unmentionable is its own oppression; it is merely another form of social control of Black people in the contemporary world."
"In its various forms, the 'Jim Crow mindset' helps to fuel the pathetic lack of progress — year after year, decade after decade, century after century."
"Statements from Terrence Woods’ father (Terrence Woods Sr.) and the local Idaho police indicate that Woods faced significant hostility from co-workers during his ill-fated [TV] assignment."
