I have extensive experience in journalism and communications in the UK and the Caribbean. Currently, I work with Compass Media (Cayman Islands) as a contract writer and project manager for the company’s special publications department and its multi-media, in-house creative agency Compass Content. I also work independently on other writing, editing & content-creation commissions. Past experience includes leading Compass Media’s editorial department through a company restructuring, as well as editing several of the publishing house’s magazines and special publications. This involved writing media releases, organising press conferences, conceptualising and running publicity and educational campaigns, writing speeches for Ministers (including the Premier) and senior civil servants, working with the video unit, taking photos and organising events, as well as managing social media pages. For the first half of my career, I worked in news in the UK, before moving into features and copy writing, I've specialised in a number of subjects, including homes & gardens, travel, business reporting, entertainment, government communications and speech writing. I also enjoy photography. Please see the following examples of my work from the past few years.
