Hello! My name is Graysen Golter, and I'm a reporter with a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. Through both coursework and hands-on reporting experience — with outlets such as The Morning Call in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the Port Aransas South Jetty in Port Aransas, Texas, KXAN News in Austin, Texas, and 60 Minutes in New York City — I’ve developed strong skills in writing, reporting, interviewing, data analysis, photography, and AP Style. I've covered a wide range of topics, including politics, education, the environment, local government, art and entertainment, history and the food and retail industries. My work consists of quick-turn daily stories, weekly columns, in-depth features and long-form investigative pieces. I’m also educated in video and audio storytelling. I’m passionate about honing my craft and committed to delivering journalism that informs, engages, and serves the public with integrity.

Researcher | Science Writer
Welcome to my portfolio. I'm Nina, an early-career researcher who is passionate about writing and scientific communication. I earned my PhD in pharmacology from Stony Brook University, where I generated human kidney organoids to study potential drug targets for kidney disease. During my PhD training, I wrote and edited articles for Stony Brook University's SciComm Society: a student-run platform that strives to make scientific innovations more accessible to the general public. Here is a small collection of writing samples published by the SciComm Society.

Writing, Editing, Content Strategy, Public Relations
I wear a lot of hats. Thankfully, I'm a hat person. Trained as a journalist, I offer more than 20 years of combined experience in writing, editing, public relations, creative copywriting, editorial and non-profit management, and content development. I love to help clients and causes create and place strategic content that tells a story the world needs to hear. My best work has spurred public education and literacy policy, provided access to education and services for people with disabilities, and shared a message of truth and hope with a hurting world. From print and digital product development to video, online training, and PR strategy, the content I shape gets the word out, fosters change, and moves the needle in the right direction. Ready to tell your story?

Multimedia Journalist
I'm a Brooklyn-based journalist reporting on community-centered stories across New York City. My work can be found in outlets like the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Brooklyn Paper, W42ST and The Chief. I started my journalism career in elementary school, when I published a handwritten weekly paper covering local news for three years, and reported on events like the 2010 Winter Olympics for TIME For Kids. I continued telling stories through high school and college as a TV news host, local reporter, editor of the school newspaper and director of three feature documentaries, one of which received a College Emmy. For the past three years, I've been a freelance reporter in NYC filing stories on a wide range of beats, but with a particular focus on housing, local business, education, and human-interest topics. From 2023 to 2025, I got to tell the stories of students and educators across the country as a marketing associate for Equal Opportunity Schools, an education nonprofit. I've shared clips from some of the interviews I filmed below.
